Don’t Underestimate Your Two Fish and Five Loaves

In the book of Matthew 14, Jesus presented his disciples with a big opportunity to minister to a hungry multitude. However, all they saw was the limitations of what they had compared to the task: two fish and five loaves of bread.

The plans that God has for each of us is bigger than we can imagine.

I am sure you have heard this many times. I am also sure God has given you big dreams and hopes for your future. Big dreams often require much resources, a lot of which might come with a price tag way out of our reach.

This can be disheartening. Often, we find ourselves stuck, thinking that we have to wait on those resources to materialize before we can begin our work towards our goals. I want to remind you that little is much when we give it to God. So do not wait, use what you have.

What is your two fish and five loaves of bread?

What talent/blessing/resources do you have now? Ask yourself how can I use this to move myself closer to the vision that God has given me.

God is waiting for us to use our little so that he can bless it and multiply it and move you closer to the goal.

For example, If you only have one meal, ask yourself how you can share it to demonstrate God’s love. I remember the widow who gave the prophet her last meal. God multiplied the little oil so much so that she had to borrow containers to hold the overflow.

Do what you can with what you have. God will bless it and bring you what you need to achieve bigger.

As I prayed and prepared this newsletter my son wanted to play so we went outside. I looked up and saw a big rain cloud, in the center of it a light was shining through.

It was like the spirit was saying to me, I am looking for lights that will shine in the dark places. I watched as the light overtook the dark clouds and the sun shined brightly again in the sky. I felt the amazing presence of God and again I was filled with hope. The world is in a dark place right now. But God is giving each of us an opportunity to feed a multitude with our individual two fish and five loaves. I want to encourage you to look pass the limitations and begin to see your opportunities. Only then will you begin to live God’s purpose for you.

Do you know someone who would benefit from this encouragement? If yes, please share it with them. If you are not yet subscribe I would love if you would do so.
